What is Bright Future?
Our mission is to see survivors of Modern Slavery living in freedom with dignity.

Bright Future’s mission is to see survivors of modern slavery fully restored and living in freedom, with dignity.
In 2023 alone, more than 17,000 victims of modern slavery were identified in the UK, and it is estimated that more than 130,000 people are currently being exploited.
Modern Slavery is something that exists in every part of the UK, from busy cities to rural communities.

At Bright Future we believe that survivors deserve hope and opportunity.
And we know that, employment, when done responsibly, can be life changing. Safe employment offers more than a paycheque it offers financial independence, a meaningful community as well as a purpose and agency to rebuild their lives.
That’s why we work with dedicated employers across the UK to create real employment opportunities for survivors of modern slavery.

How does it work?
Bright Future is a not-for-profit co-operative, and its members include some of the UK’s most prominent employers, as well as charities who work with survivors of modern slavery. To date we have supported almost 100 modern slavery survivors into long-term employment.
Bright Future provides a supported, fast track to work in partnership with its business and referral partners.
The first step is for one of our charity partners to refer an individual to Bright Future. Through our national matching system, we then match that individual with an employer that is able to provide an initial 4-week work placement in a suitable sector and location. If the placement is successful, the individual is then offered a permanent job.
Crucially, Bright Future takes a collaborative approach. Our business members offer a supportive environment for survivors to re-enter employment. Our Referrer Members, modern slavery experts who are supporting survivors directly in their recovery, offer additional support during the first four weeks of employment to ensure the candidate settles in well.
Together, we ensure our candidates gain safe and stable employment, giving them control over their futures again.
